Preparing for Your Pet Portrait

Pet Portraits

Are you eager to capture the adorable antics of your furry family member in a pet photoshoot with Lovelight? We know that pets are more than just animals; they hold a special place in our hearts and bring so much joy to our lives. To ensure that your pet photoshoot is a fun and memorable experience, we’ve created a guide on how to prepare for the session and help your dog shine like the true star they are.

Firstly, let’s talk about what to wear.

While your pet is the main focus of the photoshoot, it’s important to coordinate your outfit with theirs. We suggest choosing complementary colours that will enhance the overall look of the portraits. You can even add some fun and stylish accessories to match your furry friend’s personality.
Whether it’s a cute bandana or a fancy bowtie, these little touches can make a big difference and add an extra dash of personality to the final pictures.

Next the Toys and Treats.

Does your dog have a few favourite toys that bring out their personality?  Make sure you pack these to bring to the studio (we have enough space for them to show the toys off).  We do ask that you pack these in a bag so they are hidden.  Especially if we won’t get the toy away from them once they have it.  If that is the case we will use them at the end of the session.  If your dog has any favourite treats bring them along.  We want to make sure we have all the tools to make sure you get the best from your photoshoot.

Now, Let’s Focus on How to Help Your Dog Get Ready for Their Session.

It’s essential to make sure that your dog feels comfortable and relaxed during the photoshoot. Before the session, take your furry friend for a walk or play their favourite game to burn off any excess energy. A tired pup is more likely to be calm and cooperative during the shoot.
Additionally, grooming your pet before the session can make them feel pampered and ready to strut their stuff. Bath them, brush their fur, and trim their nails if needed. Remember, a happy and well-groomed dog equals picture-perfect memories!
